Following his move to Cape Town City in late September, Mark Mayambela scored on his debut under the struggling McCarthy. The midfielder was once a teammate of the Bafana Bafana legend at Orlando Pirates, but the pair did not spend too much time together on the field.
When Frank Lampard was given the Chelsea job ahead of the 2019/20 season, right-back Cesar Azpilicueta might have been excited to reunite with his former colleague.
After the Spaniard's arrival at the Blues in the 2012, he became teammates with the legendary Lampard, who would only spend two years with him before his switch to New York City FC in the MLS.

Lampard then controversially returned to the Premier League with Manchester City in 2014 despite his many years at Chelsea, becoming a rival to the Spain international.
Zidane currently manages defender Sergio Ramos at Los Blancos, but like McCarthy and Mayambela, they also played alongside one another for a short time. The centre-back signed for Real in 2005, playing just a single campaign with the Frenchman, who retired a year later.
