With Real Madrid stalwart Karim Benzema having not represented France in four years, manager Didier Deschamps has commented on the striker's situation regarding the national team.
'Apparently Bale Wants To Leave Real Madrid Again'
Since a sex tape scandal involving the Los Blancos forward and Mathieu Valbuena in 2015, Benzema has not played for Les Bleus, with his last cap coming in an international friendly against Armenia, during which he scored a brace.
At the time, Deschamps, who has been in charge of the French national team since 2012, decided to drop the striker from his squad, and has not called him back to the team since.
Asked about the situation recently, the 50-year-old admitted he has never even considered selecting Benzema again, not even with the forward in a rich vein of form.

"It's a sporting decision, I simply think that his selection would not be good for the national team," he told TF1.
"Thinking about things in function of what's best for the French national team and what the shirt represents, that's it.
"I'm not saying it would be bad, but just that it's an option I'm not looking at."
