Messi failed to win any silverware with club and country, but he was named Best Player in Brazil and broke the La Liga and Champions League all-time records.
Ronaldo arguably had the best year of his career, scoring 61 goals and winning four trophies – the Champions League, Copa del Rey, European Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
National team coaches and captains as well as international journalists have voted already and between 7:30 and 9:00 tonight, we will find out who the winner is. But, who would you chose as the Ballon d'Or winner this year?
