The 25-year-old joined the Spanish giants as a free agent earlier this month after leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.
It appears, however, he will still be somewhat involved in French football, amid reports he will purchase 80% of Ligue 1 outfit SM Caen.
This is according to Ouest France, who claims Mbappe will pay close to €20 million (R399 million) to buy the majority stake from American investment group Oaktree.
The investment from the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is set to help absorb some of the club's debt.
Perhaps to ensure close involvement from Mbappe's camp, the Real No. 9's brand image head Ziad Hammoud is reportedly expected to become Caen's new president as a result of the deal.
