Despite the Frenchman extending his stay at Paris Saint-Germain just last year, it appears another transfer saga is on its way after he recently informed the Ligue 1 champions of his intention to leave at the end of his current deal in 2024.
PSG were said to be furious at the timing of Mbappe's formal letter and have since reportedly decided that parting ways with him in this window would be the best course of action to avoid losing him for free in future.
Reports on Thursday seemed to reaffirm the French club's stance, even though Mbappe has publicly stated he wants to spend the 2023/24 campaign in the country's capital.
According to PSG Community, Real Madrid, whom the 24-year-old has often been linked with since a teenager, have agreed a deal to sign the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner for a staggering €250 million ahead of next season.
The 14-time European champions are said to be preparing to spend €200 million (R4 billion) on his signature up front, with a further €50 million (R1 billion) in bonuses also set to be included in the agreement with PSG.

Should this reported deal be formalised, Mbappe would become football's most expensive signing of all time as it would surpass Neymar's world-record move to the French giants worth €222 million (R4.5 billion) in 2017.
