Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo's comments about the club and manager Erik ten Hag have impacted the squad.
Ronaldo Reacts To Breaking Messi Shirt Sales Record
In a recent interview with English broadcaster Piers Morgan, the 37-year-old lambasted the Red Devils and head coach Ten Hag, revealing he has no respect for the Dutchman.
Ronaldo's controversial remarks came just hours following United's dramatic 2-1 away win over Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday and sent shockwaves around the world.
Varane, who also starred alongside the Portuguese at Real Madrid, says his teammate's actions will naturally impact the team and that the rest of the dressing room are aiming not to get involved.
"Obviously it affects us. We follow what is happening and what is being said," he told Europe1.
"We try to ease the situation in our own way, we try not to get too involved in it.
"What is happening at the media level in the big clubs is gaining a lot of momentum.
"When it's a star like Cristiano Ronaldo, even more."
The Portuguese forward is reportedly closing in on an exit from United ahead of the January window, after he attempted to leave the club before the season started.
