The 25-year-old attacker is on the cusp of making his move to Los Blancos official after news emerged earlier this year that he would not be renewing his expiring contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
Come the 2024/25 campaign, the France captain is expected to finally don the famous white jersey of Los Blancos, and an announcement to that effect could be made as early as this week, but will be contingent on whether or not the Ligue 1 champions are eliminated from the UEFA Champions League.
According to Sport, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner wants to put all the rumours concerning his future to rest as soon as possible so he can focus on the 2024 UEFA European Championship in Germany when the season is over.
It is for this reason that, if PSG are unable to overturn their 3-2 deficit against Barcelona in Spain in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday night, the Bondy native could make his departure from the Parc des Princes official by the end of the week.
The same report claims that Real are confident of finally securing the 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner's signature, and that a contract between them has already been finalised and agreed.
It is also said they want Mbappe to announce his impending arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu as soon as possible, especially if they are eliminated from Europe's premier club competition by Manchester City on Wednesday night.

It is believed Real have left everything in Mbappe and his entourage's hands regarding the announcement, but the Frenchman is determined to overturn PSG's first-leg loss to Barca after having what many feel was an underwhelming game in Paris.
