A former Argentina star has explained why he prefers Cristiano Ronaldo over Lionel Messi in the long-standing debate.
The debate between Messi and Ronaldo has been around since 2008 when the two players started dominating the Ballon d'Or awards in the following years.
However, the Argentine star has won a record eight Ballon d'Or titles compared to five for Real Madrid's all-time leading scorer.

Argentina icon Hugo Gatti explained his reasoning behind picking Ronaldo over Messi, which includes the latter playing in Major League Soccer.
"Today, he's already one less. He's playing country-club soccer in the United States," Gatti said, as per Goal.
"It's tougher playing there. Everyone plays there. They chase you; they'll kill you. Cristiano, even limited, is a phenomenon.
"Limited, he's better than Messi. And he's limited because he doesn't have Messi's natural talent, but he played for the best teams in the world.
"Where did Messi play? Barca and the Argentina national team. Messi never challenged himself by playing for other teams, in other countries. And he had the opportunities, you know?"
