According to French outlet L'Equipe, the Red Devils have reached out to the Ligue 1 giants to find out about the Brazilian's availability.
The 31-year-old's future in France has appeared uncertain in recent weeks amid reports the club could look to sell him at the end of the season.
The report claims Casemiro, a teammate of Neymar's with Brazil, is pushing for the former Barcelona winger to join United ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
Rumours suggest that the ex-Santos prodigy is open to the idea of parting ways with PSG, six years on from his world-record arrival in 2017 from Spain.
Neymar has since endured a series of long-term injuries since his controversial switch to France, with angry supporters recently demanding the club get rid of him, along with Lionel Messi, in June.
It is said that United would favour a loan deal, while PSG would reportedly prefer his potential exit to be permanent.
