After Ronaldo Nazario recently claimed that it must annoy Cristiano Ronaldo to be compared with him, a former teammate of both players has now insisted the Brazil icon was on another level, while the latter only has three to four tricks.
Mikael Silvestre played alongside Ronaldo Nazario at Inter Milan before he became a colleague of Cristiano Ronaldo's at Manchester United.
Silvestre spent just one season at Inter, where he shared the dressing room with Ronaldo Nazario, while he played for United for nine years, experiencing Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival and growth first-hand.
However, he has now insisted the Brazilian, whose career was cut short due to injury, was better than his namesake.
"He was unstoppable," Silvestre told MUTV.
"You called him 'El Fenomeno' then. I played against Messi and I played with Cristiano at Manchester United, but he (Ronaldo) was something else in terms of speed.
"Everything was top level (with Ronaldo). Cristiano, maybe you can guess that he has three or four tricks he would use most of the time, but Ronnie, it was always something different.
"He was inventing things on the spot, so you can't guide him left or right because he's going to get out of these situations, no matter what.
"He could score from any type of position. He was playing on one leg at some points and was still beating defenders all over Europe."
