Earlier this week, it was reported that the 38-year-old had told the Saudi giants to target Botafogo boss Luis Castro as a permanent replacement for the departed Rudi Garcia.
The 61-year-old has been in management for 26 years and has coached in his native Portugal, Ukraine, Qatar and most recently Brazil.
Foot Mercato claimed Ronaldo and Castro have respect and admiration for one another despite having never worked together in a professional capacity.
Goal now reports that Al Nassr have followed their captain's advice and are now set to appoint the coach ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
Castro has reportedly been attracted by the Middle Eastern club's offer and is preparing to leave Botafogo to begin a new journey in the Gulf country.
