For only the second time in 11 years, neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo have won the European Golden Shoe after the new winner was confirmed at the end of the 2019/20 season.

Lazio forward Ciro Immobile claimed the award this campaign after overtaking Robert Lewandowski in midweek.
He ended on 36 strikes following a goal against Napoli on the final match round of the Serie A season.
Immobile became only the second player in the 123-year long history of Italy's top flight to net 36 goals in a single campaign, equalling Gonzalo Higuain's record.
Lewandowski had finished the Bundesliga campaign on 34 strikes, while Cristiano Ronaldo ended up in third with 31 goals.
The Juventus forward did not feature in his side's final game of the season as he was rested for the the UEFA Champions League clash against Olympique Lyon on Friday.

Messi, who had won the last three editions of the award, only finished in sixth position this season after netting just 25 times in LaLiga and you see the complete top 10 in the gallery above.
