It was an active window for the 20-time English champions, who welcomed five new faces to Old Trafford and parted ways with 13 players, including Scotland international Scott McTominay and Mason Greenwood.

Jadon Sancho, meanwhile, completed a loan move to Chelsea, but could remain at Stamford Bridge beyond this season after the clubs reached an agreement over a deal that included an obligation to buy under specific conditions.

In terms of arrivals, United's first foray into the market came when they lured Netherlands international Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for £35.8 million (R836.8 million). Leny Yoro became the club's second addition of the window, after his arrival from Lille for £52.3 million (R1.2 billion).

The Red Devils then confirmed the double-signing of ex-Bayern Munich duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, in transfers that cost £37.9 million (R885.8 million) and £12.6 million (R294.5 million), respectively.

Erik ten Hag's final acquisition was Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain, who made £42.2 million (R986.3 million) from his sale, but how do United's reinforcements impact the club's top 10 earners list?

While the salaries of Mazraoui and Ugarte remain unknown, Capology reports that De Ligt has become the sixth-highest-paid player at last season's FA Cup winners, with Yoro and Zirkzee joining him among the top 15.

Astonishingly, United's agreement with Chelsea to cover part of Sancho's salary has seen the winger slip into eighth place in the salary ranking, in which captain Bruno Fernandes has climbed significantly after he penned a new contract in Manchester.
