Rumours regarding Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's future have been circling, but a former player has seemingly dropped a surprising update regarding the club's reported contact with Mauricio Pochettino.
Solskjaer has come under pressure after some inconsistent performances from his Red Devils since the beginning of the season.
An emphatic UEFA Champions League win over RB Leipzig was followed by defeats at the hands of Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir.
Following their 3-1 win over Everton on the weekend, Solskjaer had a rant regarding the congested fixture list, saying that clubs were being set up to fail.
During this period, there was also speculation that Pochettino had been in contact with the Manchester club, and was being lined up as a potential successor to the Norwegian tactician.
Club legend Rio Ferdinand has provided a different update, though, saying he has solid sources indicating that the rumours are false.
"It's a bit disrespectful on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, if I'm honest," Ferdinand said in an Instagram Story.
"People are touting that Pochettino has been spoken to and stuff.
"I've got it under a really, really, really good source that there have been no conversations or anything like that going on."
