With Paul Pogba heavily linked with a move away from Manchester United, the English giants have reportedly identified the player who could take the Frenchman's place in the team.
According to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils could once again turn their attention to Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish if Pogba does move on at the end of the season.
The France international has struggled for fitness and form in the 2020/21 campaign, and has been linked with a return to Juventus, as well as with Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid.
Grealish was said to be on United's radar before this season got underway, but the attacking midfielder committed himself to the Villans by signing a new five-year contract.
Villa reportedly held out for a bid of about £80 million (R1.6 billion) from the Red Devils, and that asking price is unlikely to drop considering the 25-year-old's incredible start to the current campaign.
The England international has scored five goals and assisted a further five strikes in eight matches across all competitions for Villa to date this season.
