A former Liverpool star believes that Jack Grealish should snub Arsenal in favour of Manchester United.
The Gunners have been urged to make a move for the in-form Aston Villa star, who has also impressed for England after breaking into the national team.
Piers Morgan was the latest personality to call on Arsenal to move for Grealish in January, but former Reds defender Steve Nicol believes this would be a mistake as he feels the Gunners are going nowhere at present, having struggled for a number of years.
"I don't (think he should go to Arsenal), no. I'm not sure where Arsenal are going, they've been pretty stagnant for what? Five or six years?" Nicol told ESPN.
"I'm a Jack Grealish and I'm stepping up in class every time I'm on the field, I want to go somewhere where I'm either at the top or they look as though they're going to reach the top again.
"I would suggest Manchester United, with the money they have, they're capable of going out and buying their way into the top.
"If I'm Jack Grealish, I'm looking at Man United before I'm looking at Arsenal.
"Listen, Arsenal are going the wrong way, Grealish is going upwards and Arsenal, in my opinion, right now, are going downwards.
"For a player like him, it doesn't make any sense professionally – never mind the money – for him to go to Arsenal."
