Ronaldo was handed a second consecutive start in Europe as United cruised to a comfortable victory in Moldova, with the 37-year-old scoring from the spot in the 37th minute to double the team's lead after Jadon Sancho put them ahead.
Speaking after the game, Ten Hag insisted the ex-Real Madrid and Juventus forward is "totally committed" to his project in Manchester and has been pleased with the on-field relationships he has been forming.
"He's totally committed to this project, totally committed to this team, totally involved," he said, according to Manchester Evening News.
"He also has connections that are coming around him and he is constructing connections so I'm happy with that."
Ten Hag also touched on Ronaldo's match sharpness, stating that more goals will come for the five-time Ballon d'Or as he continues to improve his fitness.
"We could expect this when you miss pre-season, he has to work really hard and invest to get the right fitness," he added.
"He will score more goals. He's really close, when he gets more fitness he will score more."
Ronaldo has now struck once in eight appearances in this campaign for United following an uncertain transfer window during which it seemed he would leave the club.
