With Paris Saint-Germain becoming increasingly frustrated with current manager Christophe Galtier, the club has reportedly begun talks with a potential replacement.
Argentina Manager Sets Condition For Messi's World Cup Return
Lionel Messi's 95th-minute winner for PSG over Lille on the weekend relieved the ever-mounting pressure on Galtier as the club's three-game losing streak came to an end with that 4-3 victory.
Despite the win, the hierarchy at the Parc des Princes are said to still be unconvinced by the 56-year-old Frenchman, though, so much so that they have reportedly initiated talks with their former boss Thomas Tuchel.
The German tactician left the French capital in December 2020 after falling out with then-PSG sporting director Leonardo, but with the Brazilian no longer at the club, it is possible the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League-winning coach may now make a spectacular return to Paris.
According to the Evening Standard, however, the 49-year-old would only return to the home of the record Ligue 1 champions if certain assurances were made by the club.
The first being that he wants guarantees from the club's executive that he will have their support should he be a victim of any PSG superstar exercising player power.
Secondly, the former Borussia Dortmund boss only wants to deal with coaching and does not want to be involved in transfer dealings.
Tuchel is the only manager in the club's history to have led them to a Champions League final, in which they were defeated by Bayern Munich 1-0 in the 2019/20 campaign.
