Verratti: Real Star Produced A Performance Better Than Any By Messi
The 25-year-old became the most expensive footballer ever after the French outfit activated his €222 million (R3.4 billion) release clause to sign him.
Pele has now insisted that the move was a good career choice, and hopes to see the Selecao star play with freedom in Paris.
"At the moment, the best player in Brazil is Neymar, and I think the move for him was very good because there was huge competition with Messi at Barcelona," Pele told Marca.
"I think it's a good opportunity for him, and he needed to move because now he can play and show what he's capable of, but it's also very dangerous when you get given that responsibility."
