With six months remaining on Marcus Rashford's Manchester United contract, Paris Saint-Germain's president has made a shock admission about the French club's plans for the English forward.
PSG Make Decision On Free Agent Ronaldo
After a tumultuous 2021/22 season, it seems Rashford is returning to his best form, not just for his club but also for his country.
Having netted eight goals and assisted three times for United so far in the 2022/23 campaign, the Manchester native has carried his club form into the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Only Kylian Mbappe has more goals than the 25-year-old's three strikes at the tournament, and as he prepares to face the Frenchman and his compatriots in a decisive quarter-final clash on Saturday, Rashford could possibly become a teammate of the competition's current top goalscorer in 2023.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has now revealed that Les Parisiens will try to sign Rashford, having failed to acquire his services during the off-season.
"He's another player that is really amazing – and for free?" Al-Khelaifi said, as per the Daily Mirror.
"To have Rashford for free, every club would definitely run after him.
"We're not hiding it, we spoke before and there was interest.
"But the moment was not a good moment for both sides. Maybe summer, why not?
"Today, if he's a free agent, of course we can talk to him directly but we are not going to talk to him now.
"Let him focus on the World Cup. Then after, in January, hopefully, if we're interested we will talk to him."

The Mancunians do have an option to extend Rashford's deal by another year, an option they will likely exercise, but as of 1 January 2023, the Englishman will be free to negotiate and sign a pre-contract with any side outside of the Premier League.
