According to AFP, the Morocco international was brought in by the Hauts-de-Seine Territorial Security on Thursday and the defender has subsequently been charged.
The PSG right-back was accused by a 24-year-old woman of raping her in his Paris home last weekend.
Although the alleged victim did not file any charges, an investigation was opened on Monday, and now it appears the police have found cause to charge the former Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund man.
Hakimi's lawyer, Fanny Colin, told Le Parisien in a statement released on Tuesday that her client was innocent, stating: "The accusations are false. He is calm and is at the disposal of justice."
