Former Barcelona midfielder Matheus Fernandes is reportedly planning to sue the club for terminating his contract after he featured for only 17 minutes last season.
The Brazilian midfielder joined the Catalan giants from Palmeiras in August 2020, but was never officially unveiled by the club like other signings.
Fernandes made one appearances under Ronald Koeman last term, a 17-minute cameo against Dynamo Kiev in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Despite spending €7 million (R119 million) on the midfielder last year, his contract was terminated with four years left on the deal as the club continues to reduce its wage bill.
Radio Barcelona has reported that the Brazilian was not impressed with the club's decision and is now planning to take the LaLiga outfit to court over an unfair dismissal.
Fernandes has also previously made the claim that Koeman had something against him, which he felt was the reason for his lack of minutes.
"Why? I don't know. At first, I started to play a little more. The coach told me that I wouldn't have many opportunities, but that I'd have some."
