It seems Luka Jovic, who joined Real Madrid for a massive fee in 2019, is close to becoming the first player to leave Los Blancos in this January transfer window.
The Serbian striker arrived in Spain for around €63 million (R1.1 billion) from Eintracht Frankfurt, and it appears he will be going back to the German club on a temporary deal.
It is claimed that the striker's agents are negotiating a January exit with the Spanish giants, with AC Milan and Wolverhampton Wanderers having previously shown interest in the attacker.
Jovic, however, is likely to return to Frankfurt on a loan deal, a year and a half after swapping the Bundesliga side for the 13-time Champions League winners.
"If everything works out, he will be with us again soon," Fredi Bobic, Frankfurt's sporting director, told Sky.
Bobic was also asked whether the German club would look to secure his return on a permanent basis.
"We will see next summer. We can still think about everything what will happen in the summer," he responded.
Jovic has scored just two goals in 32 appearances for the LaLiga champions since 2019, assisting only a further two strikes.
