The 33-year-old terminated his contract at Brazilian club Sao Paulo at the end of August to pursue a return to Europe's big leagues.
In Brazil, Rodriguez made 22 appearances and contributed to six goals.
The Colombian caught the eye at the Copa America in the United States over June and July with performances that earned him the Golden Ball award.
Rodriguez played a hand in seven goals in six matches as Colombia narrowly missed out on winning the trophy following a 1-0 loss to Argentina in the final.
