With Wydad Athletic Club failing to narrow the gap between table-toppers RS Berkane this past weekend, Rulani Mokwena has outlined a fresh target for the club.

The Red Castle were unable to reduce Moin Chabaani's side's lead at the top of the Botola Pro Inwi standings after the two sides played out a 0-0 draw this past weekend.
The Orange Boys have been leading the Moroccan top flight for most of the 2024/25 campaign, but their latest encounter against Wydad provided the three-time African champions with the opportunity to reduce the lead at the top to 12 points.
With only seven matchdays to go in the league, it seems unlikely that Berkane will relinquish their position at the top, and it seems that Wydad's South African tactician realises that as well. As a consequence, the former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach has tasked his players with a fresh objective to end the season.
"This is the reality and this is certain, the fate of the second row and the second row is ours now and we are the ones who control it, even if by a small margin over the competitors, but it is an acquired right that we did not have in the past and we should not squander it," Mokwena told members of the media after the match, as per AlMountakhab.
"We have matches ahead of us against teams that share the same goals as us and others that are threatened with relegation. We have the Royal Army Clasico and the derby against Raja, but there is no room for excuses. We have a goal that we must fight to achieve, which is to return to the Champions League."
