The Bafana Bafana star's time in the Egyptian capital has perhaps been shrouded in speculation in recent months.
Since the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign, the Witbank native has been the subject of much transfer speculation, but now the 30-year-old has put all the conjecture to bed after completing his transfer to Qatar SC earlier this week.
Having not been a regular starter within Marcel Koller's side during the past year with the Red Devils, the South African will likely be looking to prove his quality in the Qatar Stars League.
Former Ahly chairman Adly El Keiy believes the 2023 CAF Interclubs Player of the Year can do that if he decides to apply himself.
"The ball is now in Percy Tau's court, and if he wants to continue, he will be in Qatar. He is a good player, but he has a key that he controls, meaning as much as he wants," the Egyptian executive said on Al Ahly Channel.
"There is no justification for Percy Tau's decline in performance with Al-Ahly recently.

"It will become clear whether Percy Tau went to Qatar to get money or if there is something else on his mind."
