The 27-year-old has been the star of his team's title bid this season, assisting 17 goals and scoring four.
According to Marca, FC Barcelona representatives have made "tentative overtures to his agent".
The Catalan giants are reportedly keen to strengthen their squad with the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner, although it might be tricky to lure him away from the London club.
However, Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claimed that they contacted the Catalan giants, who dismissed the speculation linking Ozil with the Blaugrana.
Upcoming Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti was seen at the Emirates on Sunday, and reports in Germany have suggested the Italian wants the midfielder at Bayern next season.
The former AC Milan boss will take over from Pep Guardiola at the end of this campaign and is reportedly already putting together a transfer wish list for the next window.
Ozil is apparently delaying extending his current deal, which expires in June 2018, despite already being offered a two and a half year extension.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid have an option to match any offer Arsenal were to receive from a Spanish club, and would have 48 hours to respond, as stipulated in documents revealed by Football Leaks.
