Manchester United have put Spanish giants Real Madrid under a huge amount pressure after they included goalkeeper David de Gea in their Champions League squad.
LVG: We Can't Let De Gea Go Easily
De Gea has been included in the Red Devil's Champions League squad to face Club Brugge next week, and if he features, the Spaniard will be cup-tied for the remainder of the competition.
Louis van Gaal has told Los Blancos that, if they want to sign the keeper, they have to pay his market value and, up until now, United have not budged on the fee, which is said to be around the £30 million mark.
At this stage, the Red Devils would be happy to keep De Gea for the current season and are willing to run the risk of losing him on a free next summer.
Including De Gea in the club's Champions League squad could force Real Madrid into making a decision, as they now know they have less than a week before they could lose out on their target.
In case the Spaniard does move this week, Van Gaal has included three other goalkeepers – Sergio Romero, who started against Spurs on the weekend, Sam Johnstone and Anders Lindegaard.
Manchester United have until Monday to add one more player to their Champions League squad, and it is rumoured that spot is being kept open for Pedro, who may sign later this week.
Here is Manchester United's Champions League squad:
Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Anders Lindegaard, Sergio Romero, Sam Johnstone
Defenders: Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Jonny Evans, Chris Smalling, Luke Shaw, Paddy McNair, Matteo Darmian, Tyler Blackett
Midfielders: Adnan Januzaj, Michael Carrick, Daley Blind, Ashley Young, Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia, Marouane Fellaini, Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira
