Chinese Super League clubs are once again spending money like crazy, and it doesn't even surprise anyone that the most expensive transfer of this window so far is Hulk's €55 million (R876 million) move from Zenit St Petersburg to Shanghai SIPG.
Arsene Wenger is usually not known for splashing the cash, but his €45 million (R716 million) acquisition of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach is the second biggest deal to date.
Jose Mourinho has already landed three of his transfer targets, with the €42 million (R669 million) spent on Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund to Old Trafford ranking as the third biggest deal so far.
Somewhat surprisingly, Roma have been the highest-spending club so far, having paid about €93.9 million (R1.5 billion) for the likes of Edin Dzeko, Mohamed Salah and Stephan El Shaarawy, among others.

Mourinho's United are the second biggest spenders after paying a combined €80 million (R1.3 billion) for Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly, while Bayern Munich follow in third spot with a €73 million (R1.2 billion) outlay for Mats Hummels and Renato Sanches.
