Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta earlier confirmed that Los Blancos want to take Alvaro Morata back to Spain, and the Bianconeri have now exercised that option.
"Real Madrid have informed us of their intention to exercise the right to buy back (Morata), we are just waiting for a written offer," he said, according to Four FourTwo.
"Only then will we see how to proceed, but at the moment the possibility of Morata staying is slim.
"He will leave Turin and return to Spain."
Morata left the Spanish giants for Juventus in 2014 as he was in search of regular football.
