According to Ghanasoccernet, Gyan is a transfer target for Egyptian giants Al-Ahly, but the 30-year-old, who is said to earn £227 000 (R4.3 million) a week at Shanghai SIPG, is reportedly not keen on moving to Egypt.
It has been suggested that the Cairo-based side are interested in a loan deal for the Ghana captain, but the striker is reportedly not interested in Al-Ahly, amid reports he has other lucrative offers on the table.
However, the forward is considering his future with Shanghai after the club concluded a big-money transfer for Hulk.
"My stay at Shanghai SIPG is a bit complicated," Gyan said, as quoted by Ghanasoccernet.
"Because of my persistent injuries, they decided to bring in someone to augment the team so that the expectations on me will be reduced because of my current situation.
"For now, it is like I'm not reliable, that is why they brought in Hulk from Brazil, and he is going to be part of the strikers. So my situation at Shanghai SIPG is complicated but I'm looking at options.
"Hulk will be part of the strikers, but, definitely, he will be the preferable choice upfront due to my persistent injuries. So my future at Shanghai is 50-50."
