The wonderkid has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past year.
The skilful winger has gone from being a budding prospect from La Masia at the start of last season to perhaps being one of the best players on the planet by the end of the campaign.
Despite his prominence for his club and the Spain national team, his reported wages seem to be reflective of the former rather than the latter, though.
In October 2023, the Spaniard signed a fresh contract that is valid until the end of next season, and according to Marca, he is currently earning €1.5 million (R29.3 million) a season, remuneration he has likely outgrown him given his performances for the remainder of the 2023/24 LALIGA season as well as his showings for La Furia Roja at the 2024 UEFA European Championship.
The same report states, however, that Barca have already been proactive in this regard as the chiefs at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper and Lamine Yamal's agent, Jorge Mendes, are understood to be in the infancy stages of extension negotiations.
It seems the young superstar's path has already been paved regarding a new contract, too.
Prior to signing his current deal, there was an alleged agreement with the player that when he turns 18, he will put pen to paper on fresh terms that will not only see him stay in Catalonia until 2030, but also see a drastic rise in his earnings.

His wages will follow a similar trajectory to his ascendance on the pitch, and he has already distinguished himself as one of the best players in Spain this season, having amassed three goals and four assists in five LALIGA matches.
