UEFA Europa League final
Teams: Atletico Madrid vs Olympique Marseille
Date: 16 May 2018
Venue: Parc Olympique Lyonais
Diego Simeone's side beat Arsene Wenger's Arsenal 2-1 on aggregate in the semi-final, while Marseille booked their final ticket in a closely contested 3-2 aggregate win after extra-time over Red Bull Salzburg.
Both teams met twice in the 2008 UEFA Champions League group stage, when Atletico won the home clash 2-1 before a goalless draw in the second clash in France.
Rojiblancos, though, have not beaten a French club in France since September 1961, while Marseille could become the first ever French side to win the Europa League or its predecessor the UEFA Cup.
Spanish sides, meanwhile, have won eight of the last 15 finals in the competition, with Atletico themselves lifting the trophy in 2009/10 and 2011/12.
Atletico have already qualified for next season's Champions League, sitting in second spot in LaLiga, but Marseille, who currently sit in fourth position in Ligue1, could book their UCL spot with a win tonight.
Both team's have their strongest teams available, but Atletico coach Simeone will have to watch the final from the stands following his dismissal in the first leg against Arsenal.
