After signing for the Catalan giants in 2009 in a deal that saw Samuel Eto'o join Inter Milan, it was not long before the towering Swede and Guardiola butted heads in the Barca dressing room.
Ibrahimovic was later move on in a loan switch to AC Milan, before completing a permanent departure from the Blaugrana. He later criticised Guardiola, claiming the tactician was not man enough to face him.
Speaking in a recent interview about Haaland, the 41-year-old could not resist a dig at Guardiola after being asked whether Guardiola could continue to improve the Norway international.
"I like him a lot, he is a very intelligent player, he doesn't do things that are not within his reach," he told Canal Plus.
"He does not go down to play the ball, he waits in front of the goal and scores.
"He reminds me of former players like (Filippo) Inzaghi, (David) Trezeguet and (Christian) Vieri. In fact, it's a new version of all three."
"Is Guardiola able to improve him? That depends on the ego that Guardiola has. If he allows himself to be bigger than Haaland or not. He didn't allow me or the others to be as big."
