Liverpool have announced that their club captain has officially joined a team in Saudi Arabia, where he will reportedly triple his weekly salary.

The Reds have confirmed that 33-year-old Jordan Henderson has completed a switch to Steven Gerrard's Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League.

Gerrard was believed to have made the England international a priority target following his appointment at the club, and has now got his man.
Henderson has joined Al Ettifaq in a deal believed to be worth £12 million (R271 million), plus add-ons, and is reportedly set to earn a salary of almost £700 000 (R15.8 million) a week.
The midfielder represented Liverpool on 492 occasions during his 12-year spell, winning eight trophies in the process.

Many of his best moments in red came as captain, a role he was handed in 2015 following Gerrard's departure from Anfield.
