Liverpool, who have had a quiet transfer window to date, have now announced the signing of Ben Davies from Preston North End.
The 25-year-old centre-back has joined the Reds on the final day of the January transfer window in response to the club's injury crisis in their defensive department.
Davies joined the Reds for a reported fee of about £2 million (R41 million) after completing a medical on Monday.

The defender made 129 appearances in the Championship for Preston after joining the club from York City in 2014.
