Man City Star Slams Arsenal's Tactics & Trophy Record

A Manchester City star has mocked Arsenal over the tactics they used during their dramatic 2-2 draw and their rivals' trophy haul in recent seasons.

On Sunday, the Gunners were moments away from grabbing their first league win at the Etihad Stadium in 10 seasons.

However, John Stones' 98th minute strike denied the north Londoners the victory after the Citizens spent almost the entirety of the second half camped in Arsenal's half.

Mikel Arteta's charges played the second period of the match with only 10 men after Leandro Trossard received his marching orders in the dying embers of the first stanza.

While Arteta's plan almost came off, City's playmaking star Bernardo Silva was not a fan of the tactics the Spaniard implemented.

"There was only one team that came to play football," Silva said to TNT Brazil. "The other came to play to the limits of what was possible to do and allowed by the referee, unfortunately. But at the end we got a draw, the best we could get considering the context of the last moments of the match.

"We're not happy as we wanted the three points, but personally I'm happy with the way we came to play and faced the game. I'm glad we always enter the pitch to try to win every match."

Some feel the side from the English capital have perhaps succeeded Liverpool as the Sky Blues' main Premier League title rivals, but when Silva was asked how City's clashes with the Reds compared to those with Arsenal, he took another swipe at last season's league runners-up.

"The difference? I don't know. Maybe that Liverpool have already won a Premier League, Arsenal haven't," the Portuguese added.

"That Liverpool have won a Champions League, Arsenal haven't.

"Liverpool always faced us face to face to try to win the games, so by this perspective the games against Arsenal haven't been like the ones we had and have against Liverpool.

"So yes, maybe a different rivalry."
