Earlier in this transfer window, the Algeria captain bid farewell to the Etihad Stadium after five years with Citizens.
Given how important the winger was to the Mancunians' success during that period, Pep Guardiola has seemingly taken the initiative to find a replacement for the skilful Al Ahli winger.
According to Fabrizio Romano, not only has the Spanish tactician found a successor to the former Leicester City man in Belgium international Jeremy Doku, but City are also said to have successfully reached a verbal agreement with the 21-year-old's club.
The transfer expert claims that the fee agreed for the Borgerhout native will be €60 million (R1.2 billion) in total, with personal terms on a long-term deal already having been agreed.
Doku was also the subject of interest from other Premier League outfits such as West Ham United and Chelsea, but it seems the youngster's heart is set on making the move to the home of the treble winners.

If the deal is completed, the pacey attacker will become the latest Stade Rennais alumni to make their way to the English top flight, having seen his former teammate Kamaldeen Sulemana make the switch to Southampton at the beginning of the year.
