Kane played the full 90 minutes in Spurs' 5-1 victory over Newcastle United on Sunday evening, and despite only assisting Matt Doherty's 48th-minute header in the demolition, the forward's performance was so impressive David Ginola deemed the Englishman as the heir to Diego Maradona's throne.
"The new playmaker at Spurs is Harry Kane," the 1998/99 PFA Players' Player of the Year said on a Sky Sports broadcast.
"He is like the new Diego Maradona now.
"Long passes, short passes, he has it all."
Despite Kane failing to add to his 22 goals in all competitions this season during the match, his manager Antonio Conte was also left impressed by the striker.
"His performance was amazing. I said to him at the end of the game that it was a shame he did not score," the Italian manager said in a post-game press conference.
"To have this type of player in your team makes you strong."
However, Ginola also insisted that merely qualifying for the UEFA Champions League should not be enough to satisfy a player of Kane's quality.
"For a player of his calibre, playing year-in, year-out, just to be in the top four, it's not enough," he added.
"If he's got propositions in the future to play with clubs who will challenge for and win trophies, that's where he could [leave]. At the end of your career, what you look at is the list of trophies that you won."
