FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo are considered by many to be rivals, and the Argentine has now revealed why the duo are not friends.

The pair have shared the FIFA Ballon d'Or crown between them for the past eight years, and Messi has now given some insight into their relationship – or lack thereof.
"We know each other from confronting each other on the pitch, but that's it," he told Egyptian TV channel MBC.
"We never see each other off the pitch to be able to get to know each other and form a friendship. He's at another team, in any city, that's all."
Messi and Ronaldo will face each other once again in El Clasico on Saturday, and the Barcelona star had some praise for his club's Madrid counterparts.
"Real Madrid is a great club with a lot of history and a lot of great players; some amazing stars have played there," he added.
"It's normal that we are always battling because we are the top two clubs in the world.
"Madrid is a very complicated rival to face, they always make it very difficult to win the Spanish league."

Barcelona top La Liga by nine points ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid, and have a 10-point lead over Los Blancos, who they crushed 4-0 in the reverse fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu earlier in the campaign.
