The Portuguese netted his side's winner in their 2-1 victory over FC Barcelona on Saturday, ending the Catalan giants' 39-game unbeaten run. It was his 16th goal in the fixture, one more than Messi since the Portugal captain arrived at Real in 2009.
The Los Blancos superstar has netted four goals in his past five Clasicos, while Messi is experiencing his worst run in the fixture, having failed to score in any of his past five matches against Real.
Overall, though, Messi is still the leading scorer in El Clasicos, having netted 21 times.
Real legend Alfredo Di Stefano sits in second place with 18 Clasico strikes, while Ronaldo follows in third spot with 16 – one more than Raul.
