Colombia got their Copa America campaign off to a winning start, after they defeated USA 2-0 in the opening game.
The Colombians named a strong line-up which included the likes of James Rodriguez, Juan Cuadrado and Carlos Bacca.
Jose Pekerman's charges opened the scoring as early as the eight minute, Christian Zapata lost his marker, before volleying home from close range.
Brad Guzan came to USA's rescue after 22 minutes, as the Aston Villa shot-stopper produced a fine save to Cardona from inside area, after the Colombian managed to weave his way into the box.
The hosts nearly leveled matters in the 36th minute, Clint Dempsey did well to create space for himself on the edge of the box, before curling an effort inches wide of the upright.
Colombia were awarded a penalty just before the break when Yedlin was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. Rodriguez stepped and made no mistake from 12-yards out, 2-0.
Dempsey was unlucky not to register a goal on the hour mark, as his goal-bound header was cleared off the line Santiago Arias.
Colombia should have added a third in the 77th minute when Cardona played Carlos Bacca through on goal, however the AC Milan forward rattled the crossbar with only Guzan to beat.
Alejandro Bedoya did have a chance to kill off the game in the 81st minute, but the midfielder blazed his effort over the crossbar from close range.
Nonetheless, the score remained 2- to Pekerman's charges, as they get their campaign off to a winning start.
