Copa America
Result: Brazil 0-0 Ecuador
Date: 04 June 2016
Venue: Rose Bowl
Brazil began their Copa America campaign with a 0-0 draw against Ecuador in their Group B encounter at the Rose Bowl.
Ecuador got off to an encouraging start and went in the fifth minute, as Enner Valecnia teed up Bolanos, who curled his effort inches wide of the upright.
Selecao responded with a chance of their own two minutes later, as Willian and Coutinho combined, before the latter forced Dreer into a fine save from close range.
Enner Valencia threatened once again for Ecuador in the 37th minute, as the West Ham United forward unleashed a venomous strike from 25-yards out that forced Alisson into a strong save.
The score remained goalless as the sides entered the halftime break at the Rose Bowl.
The opening stages of the stages of the second half proved to be a cagey affair, despite Dunga's charges dominating the possession statistics.
Ecuador did have the ball in the back of the net in the 66th minute through Bolanos, but the goal was ruled out as the ball was adjudged to have gone out of play in the build-up.
Lucas Moura replaced Willian for the final 15 minutes and he nearly made the perfect impact in the 85th minute, but his header sailed just wide of the upright.
Both sides pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but neither could carve out any clear-cut openings, as they earned a share of the spoils.
