Liverpool were dumped out of League Cup after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Jurgen Klopp's free scoring Liverpool have found goals hard to come by of late, as the Merseysiders struggled to convert all nine of their first half chances against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium Tuesday night.
This follows the disappointing 1-1 draw at home after Burnley escaped from Anfield with a point on Saturday during their Premier League clash.
Leicester Manager Craig Shakespeare side had to do without the services of star striker Jamie Vardy, whilst German manager made eight changes including handing Alex Oxlaide Chamberlain his first start since his £40 million move to Merseyside on deadline day.
Leonardo Ulloa led the line alongside Islam Slimani but it was the speedy winger Demerai Gray that had the only attempt for the home side during the first period, where Liverpool were absolutely dominant.
Klopp's men were in the ascendency against the Foxes, although the Reds spurning countless opportunities with Brazilian playmaker Phillipe Coutinho, new boy Dominic Solanke and co all culpable for the score remaining 0-0 at the interval.
Coutinho never returned after half time with Welsh prodigy Ben Woodburn, replacing him.
The Reds fell behind as Ulloa''s replacement Shinji Okazaki's scuffed effort in the 66th minute from 12-yards puts the home side ahead.
Danny Ings made a return to action after replacing Georgino Wijnaldum in the 73rd minute as they pushed for an equlaiser.
However, the Foxes managed to get a second goal courtesy of a strike from Algeria international Islam Slimani in the 78th minute.
