Carabao Cup Wrap

Cheslea 1-1 Southampton (Chelsea won 4-3 on penalties)

Chelsea needed penalties to progress to the Carabao Cup last eight after it 1-1 against Southampton in regulation time.

Thomas Tuchel rang the changes as expected with only Reece James, Kai Havertz, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Trevoh Chalobah retaining their place from the Norwich game.

The Blues had to wait until the 44th minute for the opening goal though, with Havertz nodding home a corner from Hakim Ziyech.

Southampton managed to get back on level terms two minutes after the restart thanks to a strike from Che Adams, who got his second goal of the season.

After neither side could find a winner, the game went to a penalty shoot-out where the Blues went on to triumph 4-3.

Arsenal 2-0 Leeds United

Arsenal advanced to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup after defeating Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, Callum Chambers opened the scoring 10 minutes after the halftime break just moments after replacing the injured Ben White.

The Gunners doubled their lead with 20 minutes left on the clock as Eddie Nketiah got his first goal of the season to seal his side's spot in the last eight.

Queens Park Rangers 0-0 Sunderland (Sunderland won 3-1 on penalties)

League One outfit Sunderland secured their name in the hat for quarter-final draw after overcoming Queens Park Rangers on penalties at the Kiyan Prince Foundation.
