Manchester United secured their place in the Carabao Cup semi-finals with a 2-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday evening.
United had a good chance in the seventh minute. Everton didn't clear the corner properly and United came away with it again. Greenwood drove into the box and squared it to Pogba who backheeled it onto Van de Beek. He hit the shot first time, but it was a good block by Calvert-Lewin.
In the 16th minute, Telles whipped in a brilliant cross to Cavani at the far post and he let it bounce before hitting his shot to the near post. Olsen parried it away and he got another chance, but the keeper was there to block it again.
In the 24th minute, Greenwood played it out wide to Telles before continuing his run into the box. He got ahead of Mina in the middle and headed it towards the far post, but it deflected off the woodwork and wide.
Everton won a free-kick just outside the box in the 37th minute and Sigurdsson stood over it. He curled his shot up and over the wall and Henderson got across quickly to push it away at the near post.
Godfrey's headed clearance fell to Tuanzebe who played in Cavani first time. His first touch took him past Keane and he hit his shot from a tight angle and a touch off the keeper took it into the side netting.
The Red Devils finally broke the deadlock in the 88th minute. Martial picked out Cavani and he cut inside from the right to drill his shot past Olsen and into the far-bottom corner from outside the box on his left foot.
United had a couple more chances deep into stoppage time and Martial put the result beyond doubt deep in stoppage time, stroking it home after another swift counter-attack in which Rashford made the assist.
