The Best FIFA Men's Player of 2020 netted once in his side's 2-1 win over Freiburg to take his tally to 21 strikes for the 2020/21 campaign thus far.
As a consequence, he broke Muller's record for the most goals in the first half of a season in the 1968/69 campaign, when the legendary striker had 20 goals after 17 games.
Lewandowski, meanwhile, still has one more game to play before the official halfway-point of the season arrives, and also missed a match earlier in the campaign, meaning he has scored his 21 goals in just 15 appearances.
If he continues to score at this rate, the Poland international could become the first player to break Muller's incredible record of 40 goals in a full Bundesliga campaign.
