Mane struggled to find consistent form in Germany following his arrival from Liverpool for €32 million (R625 million) in 2022, with his controversial fallout with Leroy Sane arguably being the biggest talking point of his 2022/23 season.
The winger punched his teammate after a UEFA Champions League defeat to Manchester City earlier this year, for which he was suspended for one match and fined by the club.
Since then, it appeared head coach Thomas Tuchel considered Mane surplus to requirements in the Bundesliga, leading to the attacker's latest move.
