After Bayern Munich humiliated Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, a remarkable statistic has emerged suggesting that the Bundesliga giants are the biggest bullies in the round of 16 stage of the competition.

Bayern embarrassed the Blues on their home turf on Tuesday, when a brace from Serge Gnabry and a second-half strike from Robert Lewandowski secured a comprehensive 3-0 win for the Bavarian giants.
The resounding result was more of the same from Hansi Flick's side, which has historically been the Champions League's most ruthless side in the round of 16 stage of the competition.

According to UEFA's official website, Bayern have scored 77 goals in the first knockout stage in the UCL era, the most by any team, and boast three of the four biggest wins ever recorded in the round of 16.
The five-time European champions also boast the biggest aggregate win at this stage of the continent's premier club competition, having obliterated Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon 12-1 over two legs in the 2008/09 campaign.

Lewandowski has been Bayern's destroyer-in-chief this season, with the Poland hitman netting a tournament-high 11 goals so far, a record nine of which have come away from home.
