Drogba himself never lifted the coveted Golden Ball, with his best finish being a fourth place in 2007. However, the former Blues striker now works as an ambassador for the famous award, which is handed out by France Football.
With this year's Ballon d'Or winner to be announced in December, Drogba believes Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will eventually take over from Ronaldo and Messi, who have won the award in 10 of the past 11 editions.
"Neymar and Mbappe will one day win the Ballon d'Or," he told Le Parisien.
"They are part of this small group of exceptional players. There are very few in the world."

The Ivorian also gave his views on Neymar's failed return to FC Barcelona.
"At the moment, it seems like it's fashionable to criticise him for everything that happened (during the transfer window)," Drogba added.
"But once he's on the pitch, who can seriously say they do not take pleasure in watching him play?
"The more matches he plays, the more things will change and he will become what he was before.
"I'm sorry, but what happened this summer is what happens in all the big clubs with all the big players. There are some who want to leave and some their clubs want to keep. It's the life of modern football."
